Position Description:
Functional Role: Network Architect/Engineer (Senior)
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, securing, optimizing, and documenting enterprise network and systems infrastructure. This role supports installation, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of network hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and communication systems. The engineer collaborates closely with network, systems, and cybersecurity teams to ensure reliability, compliance, and mission readiness.
Responsibilities include:
- Network & Infrastructure Architecture
· Design, configure, and test enterprise networking hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and operating systems.- - Perform network and systems modeling, analysis, and capacity planning.
- Develop architecture diagrams (e.g., OV-1, SV-1) and design documentation.
- Create accurate network diagrams, technical specifications, and functional requirement documents.
- Analyze and engineer infrastructure and software solutions to meet mission and operational requirements.
- Implementation, Integration & Lifecycle Upgrades
· Lead infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, migrations, and system modernization efforts.- - Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for network and infrastructure initiatives.
- Install, configure, optimize, and support enterprise network, system, and virtualization components.
- Manage and coordinate activities with hardware, software, and technology vendors.
- Operations, Troubleshooting & Optimization
· Monitor, maintain, and support network hardware, software, virtualization platforms, and communication systems.- - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across network, system, and virtualization layers.
- Conduct performance tuning and identify opportunities for reliability and capacity improvements.
- Administer and support Windows Server–based environments.
- Security, Compliance & Risk Management
· Implement and maintain network and system security measures in alignment with cybersecurity and IA requirements.- - Collaborate with cybersecurity staff to resolve security issues promptly.
- Protect data, software, and hardware through proactive security planning and controls.
- Ensure compliance with DoD and organizational cybersecurity standards.
- Platform & Technology Expertise
· Design, implement, and support Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.- - Maintain strong knowledge of application transport protocols and network infrastructure technologies.
- Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to enterprise network and system environments.
- Documentation & Asset Management
· Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for network, system, and virtualization infrastructures.- - Manage device inventories, asset tracking, and configuration baselines.
- Collaboration & Communication
· Work effectively with cross-functional IT teams, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.- - Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise during engineering efforts.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications (Education & Years of Experience):
Required Qualifications
· Active TS/SCI Eligibility- - 9+ years’ experience performing the following:
- - o Providing engineering support to enterprise networks
o System design and development
o Building OV-1 and/or SV-1
o Network security experience
o LAN and WAN experience
o Documenting network infrastructure details
· DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Sec+CE, SSCP, CND, CCNA Security, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with DoD deployed communications- - Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR and JWICS Networks
- DoD 8570.01-M IASAE II (CASP+CE, CISSP, CSSLP) compliance
- F5 Load Balancer Technology
Minimum Security Clearance Requirement: · Active TS/SCI Eligibility
