Business Development Representative (BDR)
Role summary
TrackPoint AI, an AI communication training platform, is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to build its sales pipeline. This remote role, based anywhere in Canada, involves researching and identifying key contacts in L&D and sales leadership, conducting outbound outreach via email and LinkedIn, and booking discovery calls. This is an opportunity to work directly with the founder and sell to sophisticated B2B buyers.
Deloitte. Bain & Company. University of Saskatchewan. These aren't future logos; they're already using TrackPoint today. TrackPoint is an AI communication training platform. Corporate L&D teams and universities use it to replace outdated roleplay exercises with AI simulations that actually feel like the real thing.
We've proven the product founder-led. Now we're building the pipeline. That's where you come in.
What You'll Do
You work directly with the founder. Your job is to find the right people at the right companies, get them curious, and book the conversation.
- Research and identify L&D leaders, VP Sales, and university program directors who should know about TrackPoint
- Run outbound outreach by email and LinkedIn. Cold calls too once you're warmed up
- Book and sit in on discovery calls. You'll learn the pitch faster this way
- Ensure nothing falls through the cracks
- Feed intel back to the product: what are people saying, what's the real objection?
Most of your day is implementing and executing cold outreach campaigns. A good chunk is follow-up and live calls.
Who Fits
- Post-secondary graduate with a diploma or degree. 0-4 years of experience, no prior sales experience required. (and must be a Canadian Citizen or PR holder, and under 30 years old. This is a federal government requirement for this role, so it's a hard constraint)
- You've done something where you had to push through a lot of rejection to get a result: sales job, fundraising, door-to-door, club sport, doesn't matter
- You can write an email that sounds like a human wrote it, not a template
You're Probably Not a Fit If
- You need a lot of direction to get moving
- Doing something without a proven playbook sounds uncomfortable
- You'd rather send 200 copy-paste emails than 20 good ones
What You Get
- Work directly with the founder, no layers between you and the decisions
- You'll sell to L&D and sales leaders. Some of the sharpest buyers in B2B. You will learn a lot.
- Remote - anywhere in Canada
TrackPoint AI is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of Canada.
One more thing before you apply: don't just click the Apply button. Email your resume to careers@trackpoint.ai with the subject line "I want to join your team" , and tell us in one sentence the last time you pushed through a "no." Candidates who only click Apply won't be reviewed.
