🚀 About CaseBinder

CaseBinder is an early-stage spinout from Trademarkia.

We are building a
litigation operating system for federal litigators
.

CaseBinder automatically:

  • Ingests PACER cases
  • Organizes filings into structured workspaces

  • Enables AI-powered drafting using multiple models (GPT, Claude, Gemini)

—all within a single case.

Harvey looks across cases. CaseBinder looks within a case.

This is not a chatbot.

This is a system that
understands, organizes, and operates a lawsuit.

🎯 The Role

We’re looking for a
junior-to-mid level Product Designer (1–2 years experience)
who is:

- Extremely strong in
Figma
- Comfortable working on complex, real-world systems
- Excited to design something entirely new in legal tech

This role is ideal for a designer who:

- Lives in Figma
- Understands how modern, high-stakes software feels and behaves
- Wants real ownership over a
novel, high-visibility MVP

You do not need years of experience—but you must have:

- sharp instincts
- strong execution
- comfort designing products involving
trust, complexity, and real outcomes

🧩 What You’ll Design

You will design core product surfaces including:

🏛️ Case Workspace

  • Docket + document viewer
  • Integrated AI interaction layer
  • Evidence + authority panels

🧬 Timeline Engine

  • Procedural timelines (filings)
  • Scheduling timelines (deadlines)
  • Factual timelines (events from documents + evidence)

🧠 Inference Dashboard

  • Case intelligence coverage
  • Missing evidence detection
  • Contradictions across filings and evidence

✍️ AI Drafting Interface

  • Multi-model comparison (GPT, Claude, Gemini)
  • “Best-of synthesis” experience
  • Source traceability and citation grounding

🔍 Discovery + Strategy Tools

  • Suggested deponents (with reasoning)
  • Auto-generated:
  • Requests for Production
  • Interrogatories
  • Requests for Admissions
  • Deposition outlines

🎬 Creative & Visualization Layer

  • Demonstrative exhibits (infographics, timelines)
  • Narrative views:
  • movie treatment
  • screenplay
  • audiobook-style summaries

⚙️ Required: Strong Figma Skills

You must be able to:

  • Build clean, production-ready Figma files
  • Use auto layout, components, variants, and basic design systems confidently
  • Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes
  • Think through states, transitions, and edge cases
  • Hand off designs clearly to engineers using Figma

You don’t need to be a design systems expert—but you must be:

👉 fast, precise, and thoughtful

🧠 Who You Are

You likely have:

- 1–2 years of product design experience
- (or strong internships / real-world projects)
- A strong portfolio showing
real, modern products
(not just concept art)

You have good instincts around:

  • Simplicity and clarity
  • Trust and credibility (important in legal tools)
  • Designing for professionals under pressure
  • Structuring complex information into usable interfaces

💡 Design Principles You’ll Work With

  • Simple beats clever
  • Clarity beats features
  • Authority beats flash
  • Complexity must feel controlled
  • The system should do the work—not the user

🛠 Tools & Process

  • Figma (non-negotiable)
  • Direct collaboration with founder and engineering
  • Rapid iteration on real workflows
  • High ownership, minimal process overhead

⚠️ Who This Is NOT For

This role is NOT for someone who:

  • Only wants to polish UI
  • Needs fully defined specs before starting
  • Avoids ambiguity
  • Prefers incremental improvements over building from scratch

🌎 Location

  • Remote (US preferred for timezone overlap)
  • Open to exceptional global candidates

📩 How to Apply

Please send:

- Your portfolio (Figma-heavy work strongly preferred)
- A short note explaining either:
- A product you designed involving
complex workflows or real-world outcomes
, OR
- Why a complex product (e.g., legal tools, dashboards, or data-heavy systems) works well—or doesn’t—from a UX perspective

🏁 Final Note

You will help define:

How litigation is practiced in an AI-first world

If you’re someone who wants to:

  • build from first principles
  • work on something deep and ambitious
  • and design systems—not just screens
  • 👉 This is the role.
