Sr Program Manager- Identity and Onboarding
Role summary
Uber is seeking a Sr Program Manager for its Global Support for Platform Integrity (G-PI) team, focusing on identity and onboarding operations. This role is critical for ensuring Uber's compliance with regulatory standards by managing the collection and verification of identity documents across multiple geographies. The Program Manager will oversee key performance indicators related to processing accuracy, speed, cost, automation, and fraud detection. They will drive process improvements, identify automation opportunities, and develop long-term strategies for identity verification in the US&C region. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Policy, Operations, and Engineering.
About the Role
This role is part of the G-PI (Global support for platform integrity) team and is focused on document operations. Earner identity needs to be verified before they can start earning on the Uber platform. This is done through collecting essential identity documents and verifying them against the legal policies. This is crucial for ensuring that Uber's doc processing operations remain compliant to the regulatory standards. US&C has multiple different rules and regulations and they can differ widely country by country. Ensuring that these rules are upheld is imperative to ensure that Uber remains compliant with its licensing requirements to operate in the given country.
As part of the G-PI Identity team your job will be to ensure that the doc processing program continuously evolves to meet the regional requirements and work closely to advocate for the changes across cross functional teams including Product, Policy, Operations, Vendor Operations etc.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Partner with regional compliance and safety operations to stay on top of any regulatory changes that may impact our business
- Oversee identity verification process by owning key scorecard KPIs on processing accuracy, processing speed, cost, process automation and fraud detection
- Work cross functionally to kick off improvement and back to health plans when any KPIs under-perform
- Own all communications to regional stakeholders and leadership on business health
- Work closely with operations and product to identify and deploy automations
- Conduct regular process deep-dives to ensure there are no gaps in the process
- Build long term strategy for US&C Identity based on regional inputs and priorities
Basic Qualfications
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in identity and regulatory space
- Previous experience of working across multiple geographies
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to operate in a fast paced environment
- Ability to manage and influence multiple cross functional teams
- Demonstrated experience in managing large scale projects
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Exceptional communication skills to work effectively with Ops and CommOps leadership
- Advanced data analytics skills including SQL
- Previous experience working in a matrix organisation
Previous experience of working with Product and Engineering for solutions design
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$118,000 per year - USD$131,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$131,000 per year - USD$145,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
