Your job is to be a force multiplier. Every abstraction you create, every pipeline you improve, every rough edge you smooth—it compounds across the team. You'll own infrastructure, CI/CD, and deployment, but your real deliverable is developer velocity. When a teammate can ship a feature without thinking about Kubernetes, you've done your job.
That said, we're an early stage company. The first priority is getting the product into the customers' hands. We're looking for someone who can balance delivery with design—who knows when to automate and when to just get it done, and who can make that call without agonizing over it. The goal is to get faster month over month: ship today, then build the tooling that makes next month easier.
We're small, so everyone's leverage is high. We're looking for people who measure their success by the success of the team—who find it just as satisfying to unblock a colleague as to ship their own feature. If building the platform that makes great work possible sounds like your kind of problem, we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do
- Build deployment infrastructure that works across cloud and on-prem environments
- Create CI/CD pipelines and automation that make shipping effortless
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration
- Design internal abstractions and tooling that hide infrastructure complexity from the rest of the team
- Establish patterns and guardrails that let engineers move fast without breaking things
- Contribute to backend services when the work calls for it (Python, TypeScript)
- Help shape engineering culture and practices from day one
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience, including meaningful time in DevOps or platform engineering
- Strong software engineering skills—you build tools, not just configure them
- Deep Kubernetes experience
- Comfort with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar)
- Familiarity with Python and TypeScript
- Experience supporting both cloud and on-prem deployments is a plus
- A builder's mindset with startup pragmatism: you see friction and think "I could automate that"—but you also know the difference between "automate now" and "revisit next sprint." You'd rather solve a problem once than ten times, but you won't let perfect be the enemy of shipped.
Bonus Points
- Experience with developer platforms or internal tooling (Backstage, Port, etc.)
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration (Temporal, Argo Workflows)
- Exposure to cloud-abstraction tools (Dapr, Score, Crossplane)
- Background working with AI/ML infrastructure or long-running agent systems
