Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain daily oversight of multiple shipments, including track-and-trace activities, proactive monitoring, and timely status updates to ensure seamless execution from pickup to delivery.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics professionals; provide guidance, performance feedback, and support to foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, receivers, and carriers to foster trust, resolve issues quickly, and support long-term partnerships.
- Monitor and maintain operational Key Performance Indicators (e.g., on-time pickup, on-time delivery, shipment accuracy, and cost per shipment) while holding carriers, both internal and external, accountable to their performance metrics through regular scorecards and corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with Carrier Sales, Finance, and Senior Leadership on budgeting, invoicing, rate negotiations, cost optimization, and strategic initiatives.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges, perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence and improve efficiency.
- Support broad operational functionality, including shipment planning, load optimization, carrier selection, and coordination across transportation modes.
- Analyze logistics data and trends to drive continuous improvement, reduce costs, enhance service levels, and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, while contributing to risk management and quality control.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, such as implementing new tools or processes, and provide regular reporting on program performance to leadership.
- Additional responsibilities may include negotiating transportation rates/contracts (as needed), managing exceptions or claims, supporting inventory accuracy where relevant to shipments, and contributing to budget tracking or vendor performance reviews.
- Regular travel to customer locations is expected with this role. So the ability to be flexible on travel is a must.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 1-3 years in logistics operations, transportation coordination, supply chain, or a similar role managing shipments and carrier relationships. Experience in a 3PL, freight brokerage, or high-volume shipping environment is highly preferred. Prior experience leading or mentoring a small team is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in track-and-trace tools, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), and Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting).
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to influence carriers, customers, and internal teams.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, including coaching, motivating, and holding team members accountable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset—able to anticipate issues and act decisively.
- Solid understanding of logistics KPIs, carrier performance management, and cost-control strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
