Product Designer
Role summary
Valon is seeking a Product Designer II to take full ownership of design for a critical area within their mortgage servicing platform. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and create user-centered experiences for homeowners and servicing professionals. The designer will help shape the future of core servicing tools, contributing to product strategy with a deep understanding of user needs derived from research. The position requires leading end-to-end design processes, simplifying complex workflows, and translating regulatory requirements into intuitive designs. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of product design experience, a strong portfolio, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment, with a preference for experience in consumer design, operational environments, and B2B SaaS.

- Ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence, bringing clarity and structure to evolving product spaces
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail
- Pushing the boundaries of using AI tools in your design process and upskilling others
- Experience designing workflows, internal tools, or B2B SaaS products

- Simplify complex workflows and translate regulatory and operational requirements into intuitive, elegant experiences for homeowners and servicing professionals
- Contribute to product strategy by bringing a deep understanding of user needs, informed by both qualitative and quantitative research
- Provide feedback to other designers and cross-functional partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuously raising the bar for product quality and craft
