Role summary
Vancity, a member-owned credit union, seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a 12-month contract. This hybrid role focuses on bridging business needs with technology solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness and member experiences. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing technical solutions, managing product backlogs, leading platform implementations (especially for Digital Banking), and collaborating with stakeholders, architects, and vendors. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis, strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and technical documentation. Experience in financial services is preferred. The role offers a salary range of $92,700 to $114,450 CAD per annum.

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in bridging complex business needs with innovative technology solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness and member experiences. You will lead the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of platform solutions, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality outcomes. We're seeking an experienced professional who combines strong business analysis expertise with technical acumen, stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for solving complex challenges in a collaborative environment.
This is a Full-time, Temporary role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Application Technology. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into effective technical solution designs
- Review and finalize business requirements and manage product backlog items to enhance customer experiences and achieve business objectives.
- Owning technical solutions and leading end-to-end implementation of platform initiatives related to Digital banking platform for retail and SMB.
- Establishing non-functional requirements and supporting system configuration, testing, and deployment activities
- Developing interface requirements documentation and creating detailed backlog items for delivery teams
- Deploying solutions into lower environments and executing unit testing to validate business requirements
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology solutions and organizational objectives
- Engaging with Enterprise Architecture, Platform Leads, and Solution Architects to align on technical designs and requirements
- Partnering with internal technology teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions and drive accountability for project outcomes
- Analyzing complex data sets to support decision-making, identify efficiencies, and continuously improve business processes and technical solutions
- Ability to produce clear documentation, reports, and presentations that communicate findings, requirements, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Adaptable and self-directed, with the ability to manage competing priorities, learn quickly, and apply new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation and updating technical knowledge bases to support operational excellence and compliance requirements
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, business analysis, or solution delivery roles
- Demonstrated experience translating complex business requirements into technical solution designs within enterprise environments
- Proven experience working with system integrations, platform implementations, and software delivery lifecycles
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, product backlogs, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management
- Experience creating technical documentation including interface requirements, functional requirements, and solution design artifacts
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven recommendations
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including architects, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and build alignment across diverse audiences
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, AAC, or comparable business analysis credentials would be considered an asset

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $92,700 to $114,450 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
