Role summary

Seeking an Azure Data Engineer for a long-term contract role in Chicago, IL. The position requires 3 days onsite per week and involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and optimizing ETL/ELT processes. Key technologies include PySpark, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with the Azure cloud ecosystem, proficiency in Python and SQL, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. An in-person client interview is mandatory.

Job Title: Azure Data Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL (3 days onsite/week -- Local only)

Duration: Long-term contract

Interview: In-person client interview required

Must-Have Skills:

PySpark
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Databricks
SQL

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using PySpark, ADF, and Databricks
Work with large datasets, ensuring performance and reliability
Collaborate with onsite and remote teams in an agile environment

Qualifications:

Strong experience with Azure cloud ecosystem
Proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL
Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure Data Factory
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
