Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support a State of California client, working on EHR data lakehouse platforms and large-scale data pipelines in a regulated environment.
Mandatory Requirements (No Exceptions)
- State or Federal Government experience (REQUIRED)
- 4+ years of experience in authoring & monitoring data pipelines
- (OR 8+ years without degree / 5+ years + bootcamp)
- 5+ years of ETL experience (profiling, cleansing, legacy data transformation)
- 3+ years of experience in EHR Data Lakehouse environmentsMust include data mapping & data definitions
- 3+ years of experience with AWS/Azure data pipelines OR MuleSoft ESB
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience as above)
- Must be based in California and able to support Sacramento-based work
Preferred
- Advanced ETL experience (5+ years)
- Strong EHR + data mapping + lakehouse architecture experience
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Snowflake
- Experience with DevOps, MDM, Analytics, Reporting tools
- Prior State of California project experience
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch & real-time)
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows for healthcare/EHR datasets
- Create data mapping documents and data definitions
- Work with data lakehouse architectures (Medallion: Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
