Senior Software Engineer I

Job Description
We are looking for a strong Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing team building and modernizing software that supports important business and analytics workflows. This is an opportunity to work with a talented team on meaningful engineering problems, while helping shape the transition from more traditional software development approaches into the AI era.
This role is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving real technical problems, building scalable and reliable systems, and taking ownership from design through production. The person in this role will help improve existing platforms, build modern services and applications, and contribute to a team that is evolving its engineering practices through better architecture, automation, cloud capabilities, and thoughtful use of AI-enabled tools.
We are looking for someone who is not only technically strong, but also energized by the opportunity to help modernize how software is built. Responsibilities

• Design, build, enhance, and maintain scalable software applications and services in a production environment
• Develop backend services, APIs, and system integrations that support critical business workflows
• Help modernize existing applications and architecture into more maintainable, scalable, and cloud-ready solutions
• Work across the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders to turn needs into practical technical solutions
• Improve software quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability through sound engineering practices
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts across the team
• Take ownership of features and technical solutions from initial concept through delivery
• Contribute to the team’s evolution toward modern engineering practices, including automation and AI-assisted development where appropriate

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on coding ability
• Professional experience building production software applications, services, and APIs
• Strong experience in C#/.NET or Python.
• Experience with backend development, system integration, and service-oriented architecture
• Experience working with relational databases and writing efficient queries
• Experience contributing across the full software development lifecycle
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive work from definition to delivery
• Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working through technical ambiguity
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Consistent career progression and clear evidence of meaningful technical contribution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architecture
• Experience modernizing legacy applications or improving older platforms
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing
• Experience with front-end technologies such as React or Angular
• Experience mentoring other engineers or leading technical initiatives
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools or exposure to AI-enabled engineering workflows
