Role summary

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking full-time Veterinary Technicians to join their new team in Boston. The role involves providing skilled patient care, assisting veterinarians with exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery, performing technical duties like lab work and radiographs, and communicating with clients. Responsibilities also include safe animal handling, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a clean and stocked environment. Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and safety guidelines is required. Veterinary Technician

Salary: $29 - $35 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: The hospital is open 8 a.m.–9 p.m., seven days a week, evenings and rotating weekends required.

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technicians to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Our ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

We’re building a brand-new team for our general practice and urgent care hospital opening in October 2026, and we’re excited to add passionate Veterinary Technicians to our lineup!

  • Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
  • Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
  • Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
  • Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
  • Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
  • Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
