Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Director of Data Engineering to join our team on-site in Chicago, IL. The Director of Data Engineering will be responsible for leading the development of data architecture, managing data infrastructure, and enhancing pipeline systems. This role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, optimize data flow, and oversee the team responsible for handling large-scale data processing and analysis. The Director will also define strategies for leveraging data insights to drive business decisions and innovation.

Qualifications

• Expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and database design
• Proficiency in data pipeline development, ETL processes, and big data technologies
• Strong knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and containerization tools
• Familiarity with machine learning workflows and data science processes
• Leadership skills, including team management and collaboration across departments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments is a plus
