About The Role
As a software engineer at VGen, you’ll work directly with our cofounder / CTO and SWE Lead, contributing to the direction for our engineering team as we scale. You’ll own the development of new features from the architecture stage all the way to production.
You’ll have the chance to work on projects like our upcoming features for personalized feeds, mobile app, gifting, achievements, and various site improvements and optimizations to delight our global audience.
As we grow our team and business, you’ll have opportunities to mentor or manage other engineers, and to work across the stack in different areas of software engineering.
Who you are

• 3-5 years of full-time experience as a software engineer
• Proficient in front end technologies including React, Next.js, HTML, and CSS
• Comfortable working with Node.js and MongoDB
• Skilled at building and maintaining products at scale
• Ready to hit the ground running and make an impact in your first week
• Independent worker and great communicator who can excel in a remote / hybrid environment
• High attention to detail; can translate Figma mockups to code with near-pixel perfection
• Appreciation for human craft and intention
• University degree or college diploma in a computer science / engineering program

Nice-to-haves

• Enjoy watching anime / VTubers / streamers / internet culture
• An eye for design
• Prefer Discord over Slack
• Previous experience working in a startup environment
