Role summary

## Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer with strong expertise in IBM Z System Automation and migration from CA/Broadcom automation tools.

This role focuses on modernizing and optimizing automation frameworks within IBM Z environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational efficiency across critical systems.

## Key Responsibilities

Lead and support z/OS automation migration initiatives, including:
Migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS
Migration from CA Automation Point to IBM System Automation for Integrated Operations Management (SAIOM)
Convert existing OPS/MVS rules and REXX execs into IBM System Automation-compatible configurations
Design and manage policy-based automation using Policy Database (PDB)
Implement and manage system startup, shutdown, and automation workflows in z/OS environments
Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and advisory for automation-related issues
Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure high availability of mission-critical systems
Support installation, configuration, and tuning of IBM automation tools
Contribute to system monitoring, alerting, and event-driven automation design

## Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in mainframe operations, automation, or support roles
Strong hands-on expertise in:
TSO/ISPF
JCL
REXX, PIPE REXX, OPS REXX
System Automation Policy Database (PDB)
Proven experience with:
z/OS automation migration projects
IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS
NetView for z/OS
Solid understanding of z/OS system operations, including:
System startup and shutdown processes
Automation frameworks and configurations
SMP/E
Experience working with:
Broadcom/CA automation tools (e.g., CA OPS/MVS, Automation Point)
Fully automated system environments on IBM Z
Exposure to SAIOM (System Automation for Integrated Operations Management) is a plus
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
