Founding Product Engineer

**_Why Voygr_**

VOYGR (YC W26) is building a real-world index every AI agent and App will need. Google says '4.2 stars, open till 10’ – VOYGR knows the chef left, wait times doubled, and locals moved on. This is 1T agentic queries per year that need every place verified and always fresh. Existing sources disagree with each other, go stale within months, and nobody maintains them fast enough. 

Everyone loves maps. No one is building this at the infrastructure layer for AI. We do.

We are backed by Y Combinator and top investors with a multi-year runway. We already have real revenue and enterprise contracts. The founders are tech industry veterans (ex-Google Search & Maps, Meta, McKinsey, Harvard). You'll work directly with them.

**_The role_**

Full ownership and agency over what gets built and how. You identify the highest-leverage problem, design the solution, build it, ship it, and own the outcome. Search infrastructure, data pipelines, ML, APIs, product – you move across all of it depending on what matters most that week.

You're a true generalist. Backend, frontend, AI engineering, data systems, product thinking, growth experiments – you pick things up and run with them.

**_You_**

* 5+ years building and shipping production systems (or fewer if your background is unconventional and the work speaks for itself)
* Comfortable across the full stack – backend, LLM prompting, APIs, infra, frontend when needed
* Experience with some combination of: search/IR, data processing at scale, ML systems, data structures/API design
* AI-native – you push Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools hard, and you have the taste to know when the output is good and when it's not
* Product-minded – you think about the user, not just the code

**_The pace_**

This is a founding role at a fast growing company. We work intensely – nights, weekends, whatever the problem demands. This is not a role for coasters or people optimizing for work-life balance right now. If you want to build critical infrastructure for AI, learn a lot, and want the ownership to match – it is a good match.

**_Tech stack & Problems_**

The core challenge: maintain a continuously-verified global index of every place on Earth as reality changes fast. That means multi-source ingestion at scale, entity resolution across conflicting signals, confidence and freshness scoring, and an API designed for AI agents. It's a data + ML + systems problem.
