Role summary

The Security Intern assists in assessing information risk, facilitating remediation of identified vulnerabilities, and monitoring the organization's security posture. This role offers hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and techniques, participation in risk assessments, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement secure protocols. The intern will gain practical experience in security control auditing, monitoring security signals, and resolving security-related issues.

Summary:

The
*Security Intern*
assists in assessing information risk, facilitating remediation

of identified vulnerabilities and monitoring the security posture of the organization. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to the protection of critical information assets. This position will gain hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and techniques, participate in risk assessments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in independent testing and auditing of security control effectiveness including policy compliance, intrusion detection, and selective spot sample testing of information security controls.
  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of security systems, components, and configurations in collaboration with other team members.
  • Assist in the monitoring and investigating of security signals.
  • Assist in the collaboration with other vRad departments and team members in reporting and resolving security, hardware, software and operational issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Education:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field.
  • Very strong interest in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with of the following languages is preferred:
  • Powershell
  • Python
  • Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and risk.
  • Experience with internet technologies such as DNS, Email, and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated self-starter, ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with excellent verbal and written and communication skills.

Pay Transparency:

$20.00 - $22.50
