Role summary

Waabi, a leader in Physical AI founded by Raquel Urtasun, is seeking a Senior Manager for Federal Policy and Public Affairs. This role will execute legislative and regulatory goals, engage with Congress and federal agencies like NHTSA and FMCSA, and represent Waabi's interests. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in federal policy, lobbying, and working with trade associations. This hybrid role, based in Dallas, offers a competitive salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 USD, plus equity and benefits, supporting Waabi's mission to transform autonomous transportation.

You will…

- Cultivate and maintain relationships across Congressional offices and committees, and federal Agencies (with a focus on USDOT, NHTSA and FMCSA).

- Execute on Waabi’s key legislative and regulatory goals and build awareness and understanding of Waabi’s technology and business.

- Monitor and lead engagement with Congress on all major legislative initiatives impacting Waabi. Ensure Waabi's priorities are integrated into any relevant federal legislation including via direct lobbying.

- Monitor key federal rulemakings, and lead the internal drafting of all relevant regulatory submissions. 

- Represent Waabi in-person at all major DC-based events (including industry events, Congressional hearings and markups, regulator forums, etc).

- Serve as the point of contact for all federal policy matters, reporting key developments and strategic recommendations to the Head of Policy.

 

Qualifications:

- Deep federal legislative and regulatory know-how.

- Proven track record working with Congress, NHTSA, FMCSA, and various trade associations.

- 10+ years of experience in federal government relations or public policy.

- Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicle (AV) policy and the trucking industry.

The US yearly salary range for this role is: $200,000 - $250,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi US Inc.’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
