Role summary

Wärtsilä Voyage is seeking a Co-op Software Engineer for an 8-month contract in Vancouver, BC, starting August 2025. This role involves contributing to the development of a port management information system, working with technologies like C#, .NET, SQL, and TypeScript. The position offers hands-on experience in a hybrid work environment, with a focus on agile development and learning about the maritime industry. The role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, with a possibility of a full-time offer post-co-op. The pay is $22/hour.

Co-op Software Engineer
to contribute to the development of our port management information system. This role offers the opportunity to work with a talented team, gain hands-on experience, and make a real impact in the maritime industry.

Grow your skills in C#, .net, SQL and Typescript, learn popular frameworks/libraries such as LINQ and Telerik, in a modernized N-tier web application designed for the world's leading ports.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members through SCRUM to discuss, and design agile solutions for real world problems. Translate this into implementation and build upon software.
  • Learn about the maritime world and incorporate this understanding into code.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of C#, .Net, SQL, and TypeScript.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • The position is based in Vancouver, BC, at 570 Granville Street. General start time is 8:00AM-8:30AM, 1 hour lunch, 8-hour days. Monday to Friday in the office besides Thursday which is remote.
  • Possibility of full-time position offer after co-op.
  • Duration: 8-month contract starting in August 2025.
  • Pay: $22/hour
