Software Quality Operations Specialist
Role summary
Waymo is seeking a Software Quality Operations Specialist to join their SWQOPS team, focusing on ensuring the safety and quality of the Waymo Driver. This role is critical for Waymo's expansion, leveraging AI and ML to improve issue discovery, triage efficiency, and quality assurance. You will partner with Engineering to design and deploy ML/Gen-AI models, identify on-road issue trends, and develop data-driven strategies. Key responsibilities include defining policies, designing quality control processes for human and AI outputs, and acting as a subject matter expert. You will provide technical leadership, escalate tool issues, and drive user testing for new features. The role requires a BS/BA degree or 4 years of relevant experience in AV Software Quality Operations, with a strong understanding of the ML development lifecycle, testing, validation, and driving regulations. Experience with LLMs or ML for robotics is preferred.

Our mission is to build an adaptable and scalable operation, increasingly powered by AI, to deliver the crucial insights necessary to confidently deploy and grow Waymo's autonomous vehicle service.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
