Role summary

Waystone Health & Human Services seeks a Residential Program Manager for its group homes in Salisbury, MA. This full-time, exempt position oversees 24/7 operations for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on increasing independence and belonging. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising staff, developing Individual Support Plans (ISPs), ensuring quality healthcare, managing medical records, and building relationships with families. The role requires on-call availability and flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services is preferred, along with supervisory experience and relevant certifications like MAP and CPR/First Aid. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems is also necessary.

Residential Program Manager (Group Home)

As our Residential Program Manager, you will manage all aspects of the group home. The house consists of four to six Individuals, ages 22 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will develop Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and work with your team of direct care professionals to increase each person’s level of independence and sense of belonging.

Location: Salisbury, MA (Group home)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.

*In this role you will overseeing 24/7 operations of the home and have on-call responsibilities. Flexibility is need for evening, weekend and holiday coverage.*

Compensation range: This is a 40-hour exempt, full-time position. The annual salary range for this role is $46,800 - $52,264, based on experience and qualifications. *This position is benefit eligible as of date of hire.*

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train and coach staff, ensure all program staff training requirements are met and maintained. Provide ongoing supervision, feedback, and performance support to team members.
  • Develop and implement Individual Support Plans for each person served in collaboration with the clinical team. Train and monitor staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Ensure quality health care for each individual - Promote a healthy lifestyle within the home. Ensure timely scheduling and completion of all routine and follow-up medical appointments. Monitor that all medical and clinical recommendations are followed by all staff. Collaborate with all service providers; Nurses, Clinicians and Day Programming to meet behavioral and medical needs.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with family members and guardians. Communicate proactively and professionally regarding individual care. Coordinate and prepare for family and team meetings as needed. Train staff in best practices for working with families.
  • Ensure records are updated as required (medication lists, doctor’s orders and medical documentation). Oversee medication orders and administration through daily and weekly checks.
  • Provide emergency and on-call coverage as needed. Respond to incidents, manage call-outs, schedule per diem staff, complete on-call reports, and provide shift coverage if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field may substitute for required experience.

Or

High School Diploma or GED with at least three years’ experience working with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities.

  • Supervisory and administrative experience in a residential or human services setting with a proven ability to foster a supportive and collaborative environment for staff and Individuals.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow the Individual Service Plan (ISP), document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; skilled in problem-solving
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment
  • CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with at least one year of driving experience. Must be able to drive and train staff on the use of wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy, including experience with data management systems and recordkeeping platforms, such as HCSIS, Ehana, and Relias.
