Role summary
CoreWeave, an AI Hyperscaler, has acquired Weights & Biases to create a leading platform for AI development and deployment. This role is for a Software Engineer, UI, focusing on the core visualization engine for experiment tracking. The engineer will design and implement high-performance, interactive charting components capable of handling millions of data points, collaborating with designers and backend engineers. The position requires extensive experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React, knowledge of web-based visualization libraries, and a demonstrated ability to optimize front-end performance for large datasets and smooth interactions. Preferred qualifications include experience with React-vis and uPlot, or a background in ML workflows.

**What You’ll Do:**
You will join the W&B UI team, specifically focusing on the core visualization engine that powers experiment tracking for over 1,000 organizations, including Meta and xAI. Our team is dedicated to building highly performant, interactive, and intuitive tools that help ML practitioners visualize complex training metrics in real-time.
About the role:
As a Front End Engineer for Data Visualization, your primary focus will be the architecture and performance of line charts within the W&B UI. You will design and implement scalable charting components capable of handling millions of data points with smooth interactivity. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with product designers to refine user experiences and working with back-end engineers to optimize data streaming for charts.
Who You Are:

- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Visualization Expertise: Knowledge of web-based visualization libraries.
- Performance Engineering: Demonstrated ability to optimize front-end performance, specifically for rendering large datasets and maintaining 60fps interactions.
Preferred:

- Background in Machine Learning workflows or a strong interest in the AI/ML ecosystem.
- Experience with React-vis and uPlot.

The base pay and target total cash for this position range from $139,000 to $204,000, accordingly.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position includes a discretionary bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
