Role summary

This is a 12-month contract role for a Software Engineer specializing in SQL and Data Engineering. The position requires 5 days onsite in Charlotte, NC. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes, write complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, and develop data processing applications using Python or Java. Responsibilities include managing data workflows, working with S3 buckets, designing database solutions, leveraging big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka, performing performance tuning, automating processes, integrating AI capabilities, and deploying infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). The role involves active participation in Agile ceremonies.

Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Scrum or Agile. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Scrum Master challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support business analytics and reporting needs
  • Write complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources
  • Develop and optimize data processing applications using Python or Java
  • Implement and manage data workflows using ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks
  • Work with Parquet files stored in S3 buckets to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
  • Design and maintain both relational and NoSQL database solutions to meet diverse data requirements
  • Leverage big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka to process large-scale datasets
  • Perform performance tuning on databases, queries, and data pipelines to optimize system efficiency
  • Automate reporting processes and data workflows to improve operational efficiency
  • Integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into data solutions to enhance analytical capabilities
  • Deploy and manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-up meetings

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Data Engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Database, SQL, PLSQL skills.
  • Experience with Python or Java
  • Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks
  • Experience with Parquet files in S3 buckets
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL database
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
  • Performance Tuning and Automation: Hands-on experience in performance tuning, including any report automations involved.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience in working in Agile projects, including participation in Backlog grooming, sprint planning, and Daily stand-up meetings.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
