About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Digital Assets Software Engineer with full stack knowledge.

Our team includes 300+ engineers across the US and India, with primary hubs in New York/New Jersey, Charlotte (NC), and St. Louis (MO). Our engineers are passionate about AI and use AI‑driven development tools as part of a modern, full‑stack engineering culture. We leverage both Kubernetes based on-prem cloud and public cloud infrastructure to deploy our solutions. Our full stack engineers have the flexibility to collaborate with peers in the office three days a week and stay focused on delivery through partnership with a dedicated first‑line support organization. In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent combination of work experience, training, military service, or education)
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Java and/or React with TypeScript
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building APIs and microservices

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with .NET, Trading, or market data protocols like FIX
  • Experience conducting code reviews, ensuring code quality, and supporting production readiness
  • Hands‑on experience with E2E/UI testing frameworks like Playwright, Cypress and Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber/Gherkin (BDD)
  • Experience building RESTful services using Spring Boot etc.
  • Experience with cloud‑native architectures, including container platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of software architecture and solution design principles
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub‑based workflows, and modern developer tooling like Visual Studio Code
  • Knowledge of application security practices, including identifying and addressing vulnerabilities using tools like SonarQube
