Role summary

This full-time, onsite Accounting/Data Analyst role in Buffalo, NY, supports management decision-making in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include complex accounting, financial analysis, and business reporting, with a focus on accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and data analysis. The analyst will develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, Logicity, and INFOR ERP, providing actionable financial insights. Requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Power BI, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls. The role involves independent judgment and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The Accounting / Data Analyst is an exempt, professional-level role responsible for performing complex accounting, financial analysis, and business reporting activities that support management decision-making in a manufacturing environment. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion in analyzing financial and operational data, maintaining accounting processes, and developing reports that improve visibility, controls, and performance across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs analytical accounting and financial reporting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, including trend analysis, reconciliations, and issue resolution
  • Participates in month-end close, including account analysis, variance investigation, and financial data validation
  • Analyzes financial, operational, and manufacturing data to identify risks, trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Develops, maintains, and enhances management reports and dashboards using Power BI, Logicity reports, and ERP data.
  • Utilizes the INFOR ERP system to extract, interpret, and analyze accounting and operational data across multiple business functions
  • Applies professional judgment to resolve data inconsistencies, accounting issues, and reporting anomalies
  • Partners cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership to provide actionable financial insights
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting accuracy, system utilization, and accounting processes
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and internal controls supporting data integrity and compliance
  • Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
  • Performs special analyses and projects as assigned by finance leadership

QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
  • Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably INFOR
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, Logicity reporting, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to independently analyze complex financial and operational data
  • Prior experience in a professional, analytical accounting or finance role preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
