Whatnot is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join its International Engineering team. This role will focus on enhancing the international user experience across the product, working on the full stack to solve user problems, launch new features, and expand the company's global footprint in markets like the UK, France, Germany, and Australia. The engineer will lead solutions end-to-end, translating business needs into technical strategies, and balancing speed, impact, and technical quality. The position requires strong product instincts, the ability to mentor others, and a track record of rapid delivery in a high-growth startup environment. Flexibility is offered with remote work options or from global office hubs, but candidates must live within commuting distance of the New York hub.

**💻 Role**
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join the International Engineering team, and help us grow Whatnot outside the US in all of our core international markets; including the UK, France, Germany, Australia & more.
This team is responsible for upleveling the international user experience across our entire product, and as a core team member you would work across the entire stack and product to solve targeted user problems, unlock new features and grow our international footprint.
You’ll lead solutions end to end. You’ll translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions and drive delivery and experimentation. Your role will involve creative problem-solving to balance development speed, product impact, and technical excellence.
We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our New York hub.

As Our Next Fullstack Engineer, You Should Have (e.g. 5+ Years Of Generalist Software Development Experience In High Growth Startups), Plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Backend Expertise: Proven track record of building end-to-end high-scale product experiences as a full-stack engineer. Experience with Python on backend, and/or Postgres databases is a plus.
  • Web development experience with React, using GraphQL for API development, and modern frontend applications (exposure to Next.js framework is not required but preferred)
  • Excellent product instincts—you first think about users rather than the best technical solution
  • You can mentor others, and prioritize building inclusive, supportive teams
  • Project owner—you’ve strong ownership instincts and can own projects from inception to production and beyond
  • You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast
  • You’re an excellent problem solver and can operate autonomously
  • Ability to pick up on new technologies very quickly
  • Proven track record of delivering features
