Role summary

The Vice President of Renovations & Procurement is a strategic leader accountable for defining and executing the organization's vision and long-term objectives in renovation projects and FF&E purchasing. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Design & Construction, this role ensures successful project delivery, strong cost and project management during pre-construction and construction, and oversees all 3rd Party FF&E Purchasing Agents. The VP combines strategic foresight, financial acumen, and operational expertise to lead renovation projects, manage purchasing managers, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Key responsibilities include project oversight, construction management, pre-development support, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.

Summary:

## SUMMARY

The Vice President of Renovations & Procurement is accountable for defining and executing the organization's strategic direction to achieve its vision and long-term objectives. This strategic leader will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Design & Construction and will partner across the organization to ensure the successful delivery of current and future renovation projects, with strong project and cost management during pre-construction and construction phases. They will also oversee all 3rd Party Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) Purchasing Agents for all new construction and renovation projects.

The Vice President of Renovations & Procurement will combine strategic foresight, financial acumen, operational expertise, and inspirational leadership to oversee key functional areas including management of all renovation projects, leadership of the Senior Director of Renovations, and management of White Lodging's Purchasing Managers. This role plays a critical part in shaping long-term strategy, driving organizational performance, and strengthening market position, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, ethical decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Oversight & Delivery

  • Own renovation projects from inception through opening/completion, guaranteeing that design and Brand Standard requirements are met and that any design variations fit within the overall product objective
  • Ensure execution of construction projects complies with established standards of quality, safety, ethics, and building regulations with strict adherence to project budget and schedule

Construction Management

  • Maintain overall responsibility for the control of construction costs, management of construction contracts, and supervision of remodel projects from inception to turnover
  • Recommend Construction Management Firms to the Executive Vice President of Design & Construction and subsequently supervise scope, cost, progress, safety, timing, and KPI tracking of all construction activities

Pre-Development & Planning

  • Support the pre-development process including design, schedule, and budget presentation to the Executive Vice President of Design & Construction for Board approval
  • Lead negotiating and bidding of general contractors
  • Reporting & Risk Management
  • Provide weekly status reports to the Executive Vice President of Design & Construction with project-related information including counts, type, timing, cost, personnel utilization, and issue/delay identification
  • Establish risk factors, then inform and escalate them timely while managing and mitigating to ensure construction stays on track

Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee and build relationships with key stakeholders including construction firms, construction management firms, management companies, local government/construction officials, Purchasing Agents, 3rd Party Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Interior Designers

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recommend and implement the hiring, developing, motivation, and retaining of talent required to deliver current and long-term renovation projects on time and on budget

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction, or Hotel Management required; advanced degree preferred
  • Master's in Construction Management or Real Estate is a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Project Management strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in FF&E Purchasing preferred
  • Experience leading large, complex project teams including General Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers, Consultants, and FF&E Purchasing Agents
  • Experience working with world-class architects, engineers, and designers
  • Demonstrated success leading complex organizations and delivering measurable results
  • Proven track record of strategic growth, operational excellence, and team leadership
