
Corporate Accountant
Role summary
A Corporate Accountant role is available within the Payroll and Compensation division of a leading real estate and REIT firm. This position offers high-visibility experience at the intersection of corporate finance and talent management, focusing on accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Responsibilities include recording journal entries for domestic and foreign subsidiaries, variance analysis for compensation accounts, performing compensation allocations, assisting with audits (workers compensation, benefits, payroll, SOX), and supporting tax provision calculations. The role also involves compiling compensation and benefit forecasts, preparing budget comparisons, managing tenant communications for receivables, assisting with tenant set-ups, and collaborating on property tax delinquencies. Requires up to 3 years of accounting experience, a BS/BA in Accounting, strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Job Function
- In Office Policy: 3 days in office
- Payroll: Record compensation related journal entries on domestic and foreign subsidiaries
- Prepare variance analysis and detailed commentary for various compensation accounts on income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Perform and record compensation allocation based on advisory agreements and current company guidelines
- Assist with various audits including but not limited to workers compensation, benefits, payroll audits and internal SOX requests
- Assist with ad hoc account analyses and reporting requests from various groups
- Back up support to Senior Payroll Accountant during absence. Requires understanding of current payroll process and compensation structure
- Provide quarterly data to Tax team for tax provision calculations
- Compile compensation and benefit forecast for International Entities based on data received from HR
- Prepare actual vs budget comparison on quarterly basis Compliance
- Engage in frequent communication with tenants on various matters
- Assist with collection of outstanding tenant receivables – including managing tenant communication and providing tenants with relevant documents
- Assist with new tenant set up such as rent direction letters and W-9s
- Obtain and organize tenant financials
- Collaborate with tenants, local jurisdictions and consultants on property tax delinquencies
- Assist with Ad-Hoc requests and projects from Asset Management and Accounting Departments
Job Requirements
- Up to 3 years of accounting experience
- BS/BA in Accounting
- Ability to multi-task and work within two different departments
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Attention to detail
