Role summary

Responsibilities include communicating findings, automating tasks with Python, and maintaining documentation. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in data analysis (preferably compliance), proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (like Power BI), and Python for data analysis.

About The Role
As a Data Analyst specializing in Compliance at BetMGM, you will play a critical role in leveraging data and advanced analytical techniques to support regulatory adherence and operational integrity. Your primary focus will be on analyzing compliance-related data streams, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Trading Compliance, Responsible Gaming, Suspicious Activity Reports, and Internal Audit data. You will work closely with multiple business units, distilling complex data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making and ensure adherence to gaming regulations. This fast-paced role requires a proactive mindset, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your work will directly impact our ability to maintain compliance standards, improve operational efficiencies, and uphold our commitment to responsible gaming practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within compliance or related fields
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and management
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or equivalent
- Ability to develop and maintain Python notebooks for data analysis and automation
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying complex data insights
- Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous improvement
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently in an agile environment
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues and bugs
- Curiosity and drive to solve complex business problems through data analysis
- Good verbal reasoning skills and confidence in presenting findings
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Analyze compliance data from various sources to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for process improvement
- Develop automated dashboards and visualizations to streamline reporting and reduce manual efforts
- Support the creation and implementation of data-driven initiatives to enhance data visibility and integrity
- Ensure high data quality, consistency, and accuracy through rigorous validation and documentation processes
- Collaborate with compliance, technology, and audit teams to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels
- Assist in automating repetitive tasks using Python and other technological solutions
- Maintain documentation for data processes, quality control, and project workflows
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving compliance monitoring and reporting systems
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance data practices align with legal standards
