About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Node.js and AWS to join our dynamic Search engineering team. Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Node.js, C++, and Python
- 5+ years of experience working with large-scale distributed systems
- Strong proficiency in GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and API design
- Extensive experience in full-stack JavaScript development using Node.js, Express, Nest, Fastify, etc.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including serverless architectures
- Proficiency with database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL or similar
- Frontend development experience using React, Vue, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of big data technologies and data processing
- Expertise in performance optimization, scalability planning, and troubleshooting
- Ability to mentor and guide engineering teams, conducting code reviews and technical training
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, processes, and continuous improvement practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver projects on time
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Lead and own the delivery of full-stack applications within a cross-functional product squad, aligning with business objectives and security standards
- Design and implement scalable, robust, and maintainable application architectures and system designs
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and architectural principles
- Evaluate third-party tools, frameworks, and APIs for integration, considering security, performance, and scalability factors
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, tooling, and automation to enhance efficiency and quality
- Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and technical excellence
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management
- Lead large-scale digital transformation projects, focusing on cloud migration, modernization, and scalability enhancements
