About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join Fraser Health’s Centre for Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Innovation (CAADSI) team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with demonstrated leadership and consultation skills to influence healthcare decision-making through data-driven insights. As a key member of the team, you will lead a cross-functional group of technical staff in designing, developing, and maintaining a variety of data products that support various programs and services within Fraser Health. Your role will involve collaborating with internal stakeholders, understanding their reporting needs, and translating these requirements into actionable analytics solutions. You will be responsible for developing business intelligence reports, conducting complex data analyses, and providing strategic insights to enhance healthcare delivery. This position is based at our Central City offices in Surrey, B.C., conveniently located near rapid transit, and offers an attractive salary range of CAD $38.88 to $55.89 per hour.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or related field
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in decision support, data analysis, performance reporting, or healthcare management
- Proficiency in T-SQL and Power BI
- Strong understanding of relational and multidimensional database concepts
- Knowledge of big data analytics and statistical methods
- Ability to operate relevant software applications and analytical tools
- Experience with flow process improvement methodologies such as PDSA, Lean, or Six Sigma
- Understanding of the healthcare system and interdisciplinary roles within healthcare
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and independent working skills
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization abilities
- Physical capacity to perform the duties of the position
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to identify reporting needs, analyze current processes, and explore opportunities for efficiency and improvement
- Design and develop business intelligence reporting solutions using tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
- Provide detailed analysis, insights, and interpretation from complex datasets sourced from multiple systems
- Conduct benchmarking and research on best practices, making recommendations for process enhancements and technological adoption
- Automate reporting processes and coordinate data inputs, analyses, and distribution to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Ensure quality assurance by reviewing reporting inputs and outputs, maintaining high standards for data accuracy and insightfulness
- Align analytics solutions with CAADSI standards, including data definitions, UI/UX visualizations, and production guidelines
- Participate in system implementation phases, ensuring reporting requirements meet guidelines and standards, and perform corrective actions as necessary
- Prepare strategic business cases, briefing papers, and reports for executive leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal teams, senior management, and external partners to support organizational goals and strategic initiatives
- Synthesize and analyze patient services data, interpret findings, and develop recommendations for quality improvements and outcome measures
- Assist in selecting appropriate metrics and understanding patient-reported experience and outcome data
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the organization’s data and analytics objectives
