About The Role
The Entry-Level Data Engineer plays a vital role in aggregating data from multiple sources into unified data models to support data analytics across our global business units, including Glassdoor and Indeed. This technical position requires modifying data lake models and developing scalable, efficient data management processes. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in data processing and modeling within a big data environment, including expertise in creating data pipelines, automating tests, and ensuring reliable data flows. Your contributions will be instrumental in providing insights into the job market, supporting product innovation, and enhancing connectivity for job seekers and employers alike. You will collaborate closely with product and data teams to design, implement, and optimize data solutions, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of our data assets.
Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with big data and streaming technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, Hive, Kafka, Spark, or Flink
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and pipeline management tools like Airflow
  • At least 2 years of programming experience, preferably in Python or Scala
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for data-driven decision making
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from various sources into the Data Warehouse
  • Collaborate with product and data teams to design and implement updates to data models
  • Create comprehensive documentation for data processes and models
  • Provide training and consulting support to users of the data warehouse
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the continuous operation of critical data pipelines
  • Automate testing and validation processes to ensure data quality and reliability
  • Optimize data workflows for performance and scalability
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and incorporate best practices into workflows
