About Us
Wonder Dog is an Venture backed AI-powered preventative health platform for dogs , and we're building fast toward a Spring 2026 launch across iOS, Android, and web.
The Role
We're looking for an engineer who has completely rewired how they work. Someone who lives in Claude Code, not their IDE. Someone who treats agentic tooling as the primary interface for building software — and uses it to ship at a pace that makes traditional engineering timelines look absurd.
This is not a role where you'll spend two sprints debating architecture. You'll ship in a day what used to take two months. You'll build production features end-to-end — from prototype to App Store — on a clean, simple stack. If that sounds uncomfortable, good. That's the job.
What You'll Be Building
- A React Native (Expo) iOS and Android app
- Next.js / React web experiences
- Python backend services powering an AI-driven health platform
- Production deploys to the App Store, Google Play, and the web
What We're Looking For
- Claude Code is your primary engineering tool. You write code through it, debug through it, ship through it. IDE is a secondary screen, not your home base.
- You ship production software fast. Not prototypes. Not demos. Real products that real users touch.
- You know the stack. TypeScript, React Native, Expo, Next.js, Python. You've deployed to app stores and managed production releases.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity. We're a small team moving fast. You'll own entire surfaces of the product.
- Experience matters — but adaptation matters more. We value deep engineering backgrounds. But we've seen senior engineers resist agentic workflows, and that's a dealbreaker here. If you haven't fully committed to this way of working, this isn't the right fit.
- You're available and communicative. We don't use Jira. We don't use Linear. We align through phone calls, standups, and texts — casually and frequently throughout the day. In this era of agentic engineering, staying connected on vision and architecture in real time matters more than any project management tool. You need to be reachable during US hours, ready to hop on a call, and end every day with meaningful, visible progress.
- Excellent English communication. Written and verbal. You'll be on calls constantly — clarity matters.
What We're Not Looking For
- Engineers who think AI tooling is a nice-to-have or a toy
- Anyone who needs a Jira board, a Linear backlog, or a two-week sprint plan to write a feature
- People who are precious about their editor setup
- Anyone who can't be available for calls and texts during US business hours
