Reporting to the Software Architect, this role will lead the frontend development of their web applications, manage and mentor a team of frontend developers, and drive technical direction. Responsibilities include architecting Vue 3 applications, establishing best practices, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of frontend experience, strong proficiency in Vue.js, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and experience with AI-assisted development tools. This hybrid role is based in City of Industry, CA.

The Role
We are seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team, reporting to the Software Architect. This role will be responsible for leading the frontend development of our suite of web applications. The Lead Frontend Engineer will manage a team of frontend developers, driving technical direction, establishing best practices, and being directly accountable for the productivity and output of their team. We are an AI-forward engineering team and expect this role to actively leverage AI tools to enhance development workflows, accelerate problem-solving, and deepen understanding of complex systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of Vue 3 single-page applications across multiple products
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of frontend developers, fostering growth and ensuring consistent productivity and delivery
- Take ownership of team output, setting expectations, tracking progress, and removing blockers
- Establish and enforce frontend coding standards, design patterns, and best practices
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Collaborate with backend engineering, product, and design teams to translate requirements into well-architected solutions
- Evaluate and recommend frontend tools, libraries, and frameworks to improve developer experience and application performance
- Leverage AI-assisted tools for code generation, debugging, code comprehension, and rapid prototyping
- Optimize application performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of shared internal component libraries
- Participate in sprint planning, task delegation, and help estimate frontend work
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex frontend issues in production
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience
- Strong proficiency with Vue.js (Vue 3 preferred) and the Vue ecosystem (Vue Router, Vuex)
- Solid experience with TypeScript in a production environment
- Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with SCSS/SASS for styling and theming
- Proficiency with modern build tools such as Vite or Webpack
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs using Axios or similar HTTP clients
- Familiarity with data grid solutions such as AG Grid
- Proven experience managing a development team, including accountability for team productivity and delivery
- Strong understanding of responsive design, browser compatibility, and frontend performance optimization
- Be personable and communicative – will need to work closely with partners and teammates
- Experience with Git (GitHub) and collaborative development workflows
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor) for code generation, comprehension of unfamiliar codebases, and improving development velocity
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time data using WebSockets or Pusher
- Experience with modern graphing, charting, and data visualization libraries
- Experience building or maintaining shared component libraries
- Knowledge of SSO/authentication integrations (ForgeRock, OAuth, SAML)
- Exposure to PHP backends or full-stack development
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industries
- Familiarity with ESLint configuration and code quality tooling

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
