Role summary
YMC America Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and commission automation and control systems for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. This role involves hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems, system integration, and onsite troubleshooting. Responsibilities include PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, software development (C#, SQL), configuring industrial communication protocols, and supporting integration and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2-5 years of experience in industrial automation, with preferred experience in Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.

The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning automation and control systems for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. This role requires hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems, system integration, and onsite troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related technologies
- Implement and debug automation solutions for process equipment and integrated systems
- Develop and maintain software applications (C#, SQL, HMI/SCADA interfaces)
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC)
- Support system integration, FAT, SAT, and onsite commissioning activities
- Diagnoses and resolve system issues (hardware, software, network, instrumentation)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process engineers, mechanical, and customers)
- Contribute to R&D and continuous improvement of automation platforms
Qualifications:.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanics, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation or process control systems
- Experience with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens preferred)
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking
- Programming experience in C#, Java Script, SQL, or similar languages
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with both technical teams and customers
- Willingness to travel for onsite support (as required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
