Role summary

We are seeking a Data Analyst / Scientist to modernize our accounting operations by leveraging data analysis, automation, and reporting. This role involves organizing internal workflows, building quarterly client reports, analyzing financial and tax data, and creating insightful dashboards for decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant field, strong analytical and quantitative skills, experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, and proficiency in Python, R, or Java. A basic understanding of accounting principles is also required. This is an onsite, full-time position.

Job Summary
We are hiring a Data Analyst / Scientist to help modernize our accounting operations through data analysis, automation, and reporting.

This role focuses on:

  • Organizing internal workflows
  • Building quarterly client reports
  • Analyzing financial and tax data
  • Creating dashboards and insights for decision-making

Duties

  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for financial and tax data from multiple sources
  • Integrate and manage data from systems such as QuickBooks, payroll platforms, and banking sources
  • Generate clear, concise quarterly financial reports with actionable insights for clients
  • Automate repetitive workflows and reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop predictive models to forecast client revenue trends and seasonal cash flow patterns
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Identify and flag compliance risks, anomalies, and irregular transactions
  • Support forensic analysis and fraud detection through advanced data analysis techniques
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field (Recent Graduate)
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and quantitative methods
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Proven experience with Python, R, or Java for developing data-driven solutions, preferably in a financial context
  • Has basic understanding about accounting and some terminology
  • Experience generating financial reports in PDF format from structured data sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets, or templates) using automated reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
