Role summary

YouTube's Trust and Safety team is seeking a Senior UX Designer to define and enforce safety standards, ensuring harmful behaviors do not degrade product quality. This role involves building infrastructure and tools for large-scale community guideline enforcement and designing policy experiences for creator safety. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading tools for investigations, content review, and creator appeals. The ideal candidate will have 6 years of interaction design experience, proficiency in design systems, prototyping, and tools development, and a passion for user-centered design in a complex, cross-functional environment.

### Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience with design systems, prototyping, and tools development.

### Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. ## Responsibilities

  • Understand business needs and workflows to develop safety solutions.
  • Identify and lead opportunities to innovate and improve YouTube's trust and safety tools and processes.
  • Leverage AI and prototyping resources to accelerate workflows, explore solution spaces, and improve product design decisions.
  • Partner with UX research teams to identify and address high-impact gaps in product and user knowledge.
  • Advocate for team efforts and collaborate across YouTube and Google to find alignment and improve product outcomes.
