Role summary

Zee Foods is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for an 8-week paid internship during Summer 2026. The intern will work on automation tools for business processes in food manufacturing and cold chain distribution. Responsibilities include assisting in software development and debugging using Python, C/C++, and TypeScript/JavaScript, supporting API integrations (REST, JSON, XML), and participating in testing activities. The role requires a student pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with programming foundations. Job Overview
As a Software Engineer Intern at Zee Foods, you will work on automation tools for business processes of a food manufacturing and cold chain distribution company. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software engineering working on impactful projects. This is an 8 week internship programming during the Summer of 2026.

Duties

  • Assist in developing and debugging software in languages including Python, C / C++ and Typescript / Javascript.
  • Support the integration of APIs including REST APIs and JSON, and XML.
  • Participate in software testing activities such as unit testing, system testing, and test automation.
  • Document technical specifications, maintain project records, write reports and present results as a team.
  • Attend Zoom meetings to discuss deliverables and progress, and collaborate with team members and leadership to achieve goals.

Required

  • Currently pursuing an Associates (2 year) or Bachelors (4 year) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or other STEM degree with foundations in programming in popular progamming languages such as Python, C++ / C, Typescript / Javascript.

Preferred

  • Familiar with integrated development environments such as VS Code or Jetbrains
  • Familiar with version control tools such as Git / Github
  • Familiar with build systems such as CMake, NPM or PIP.
  • Familiar with C++ Windows Desktop GUI libraries such as wxWidgets or Qt.
  • Familiar with SQL concepts such as database servers, tables, and join operations.
  • Familiar with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, and HTTPS.
  • Familiar with Agentic AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
  • Familiar with Intuit and Quickbooks Desktop SDK.
  • Familiar with typesetting such as LaTeX or Markdown.
