Sign up to see compensation estimateZermount is seeking a skilled Palo Alto Security Engineer to support a federal client in a complex hybrid enterprise environment. This role supports the architecture, engineering, administration, maintenance, and enhancement of Palo Alto NGFW, Prisma Cloud, and CASB technologies across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, configure, and maintain Palo Alto NGFW, Prisma Cloud, and CASB solutions
- Support security architecture, implementation strategies, and technical documentation, including diagrams
- Maintain and tune inbound and outbound decryption capabilities
- Configure and optimize threat detection and prevention capabilities
- Support new implementations, upgrades, patches, and major version releases
- Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with internal teams and vendors through resolution
- Support integrations with enterprise logging, monitoring, and security operations tools
- Perform daily health monitoring, system tuning, certificate maintenance, user administration, configuration backups, and operational support
- Support hybrid environments spanning on-premises, AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Assist with project schedules, change requests, testing, and deployment activities
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network security, or security engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto technologies
- Experience with enterprise firewall/security engineering, cloud security, and operational support
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Federal environment experience preferred
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted.
Certification: At least one Palo Alto technical certification required, such as PCNSA or PCNSE.
