The Role

We're looking for a curious, motivated entry-level Data Engineer to join our team. You'll help expand the internal data infrastructure powering our optimization engine, assist in building scalable analytics workflows, and gain hands-on experience working with real-world data in Databricks. You'll be part of a remote-first, highly technical team that values impact over process and clarity over jargon.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain data pipelines that support analysis, product development, and customer insights
• Clean, transform, and structure large datasets from Databricks and cloud infrastructure logs
• Write reliable, production-grade code in Python and SQL
• Work closely with senior engineers to improve data models and ensure data accuracy
• Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of open-source tools and frameworks
• Optimize pipelines for cost, performance, and scalability

What We're Looking For

• Basic hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark (academic or personal projects are welcome)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong analytical thinking and a desire to work with complex data at scale
• Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, feedback-friendly environment
• Bonus: experience with tools like dbt, Airflow, or Terraform
