Role summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Software Engineer II to build, ship, and operate scalable backend services using Node.js/TypeScript. The role involves designing and implementing services and APIs, optimizing data access with MongoDB and Redis, and deploying to cloud environments (GCP/AWS) using Docker and Kubernetes. Key responsibilities include end-to-end feature ownership, testing, code reviews, CI/CD automation, and monitoring for reliability and performance. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in backend development, hands-on experience with relevant frameworks and databases, and familiarity with cloud platforms and observability tools. This is a hybrid role focused on delivering high-quality, secure, and well-documented code.

Role Summary: Build, ship, and operate backend services at scale for ZoomInfo’s flagship products. You’ll work mostly in Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS preferred), design APIs, optimize data access on MongoDB/Redis, and deploy to cloud (GCP preferred or AWS) with a focus on reliability, performance, and security.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs in Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS preferred)
  • Own features end-to-end: design, coding, tests, code reviews, docs, and production rollout
  • Model data and optimize queries in MongoDB; use Redis for caching and throughput
  • Containerize and deploy via Docker/Kubernetes; automate with CI/CD
  • Monitor and troubleshoot using logs, metrics, and traces; improve latency and reliability
  • Collaborate with Product/Engineering to break down work, estimate, and deliver on time
  • Participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews; contribute to runbooks

    • What you bring:

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience with building backend services in Node.js/TypeScript
  • Hands-on with NestJS/Express/Fastify, and strong API fundamentals (versioning, pagination, idempotency, auth)
  • Practical experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexes) and Redis (caching patterns, TTL/evictions)
  • Cloud experience on GCP (preferred) or AWS; Docker; basic Kubernetes; CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Jenkins, etc.)
  • Testing skills with Jest/Playwright/Cypress; solid debugging in production
  • Working knowledge of observability (logs/metrics/traces) and basic SLO concepts
  • Good communication and collaboration; bias for clean, secure, well-documented code

    • Nice to have:

  • Kafka or Pub/Sub; feature flags and canary/blue‑green deployments
  • Performance profiling, load testing, and cost-aware design
