Senior Workplace Manager
Role summary
Zoox is seeking a Senior Workplace Operations Manager to join its Places and Build organization. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of real estate, including the design, construction, and maintenance of office and industrial facilities, as well as culinary services across the Bay Area and expanding to new cities. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in workplace or facilities management, particularly within technology or corporate campus settings. Key responsibilities include managing employee services, vendor relationships, cross-functional partnerships, and budget forecasting, while developing and implementing processes to improve operational efficiency.
We’re looking for an innovative and dynamic self-starter who will organize and manage Workplace operations throughout our portfolio while creating diverse workplace services for our crew. Our portfolio consists of leading-edge office environments, micro-kitchens, kitchens/cafes, and a variety of technical support spaces that include R&D labs, prototyping shops, testing labs, maintenance facilities, charging infrastructure, and ID studios. You will be detail-oriented with strong operational and administrative knowledge, financial management skills, and possess excellent and open customer-service abilities while engaging across all departments and cross-functional teams (Places and Build, IT, security, food, events, etc) at Zoox.
In this role, you will:
- Own the overall workplace operations strategy, ensuring services, standards, and programs effectively support business goals, employee experience, and portfolio readiness.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for workplace operations, partnering with executives, business leaders, and internal support teams to prioritize needs, solve problems, and deliver consistent service levels.
- Lead portfolio-wide vendor management, including contract development, SLA ownership, KPI tracking, service performance reviews, and competitive bid processes where appropriate.
- Oversee workplace financials, including annual planning, budget forecasting, expense tracking, and reporting, while managing resources strategically to balance end-user expectations with evolving budget and staffing constraints.
- Build, lead, and mentor workplace team members and external service partners, creating a culture of accountability, responsiveness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive operational excellence through process development, workplace standards, moves management, documentation, compliance coordination, and implementation of programs that improve how the portfolio is supported.
