Part-Time Student Worker - Test Engineering
Role summary
Zoox is seeking a part-time Test Engineering Co-op to join their Test and Diagnostics Engineering (TDE) team, focused on ensuring the quality of components for autonomous robotaxis. This role involves designing fixtures for test equipment, utilizing authoring tools like CATIA, releasing designs into PLM systems, and performing rapid prototyping. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a relevant degree, has knowledge of 3D-printing, hands-on project experience, and understanding of Python for fixture bring-up. This is an excellent opportunity for students to apply academic knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.
The Test and Diagnostics Engineering (TDE) team is dedicated to guaranteeing the high quality of components used in our purpose-built autonomous robotaxis. We achieve this by developing cutting-edge manufacturing test solutions and focusing on innovative approaches to solve complex production challenges.
We are looking for a part-time Test Engineering Co-op who is curious, enthusiastic, and eager to tackle challenges. You will join a team of hardware and software specialists as well as generalists. This role offers a chance to apply your academic knowledge by formulating and implementing innovative fixtures specifically for use within our manufacturing facilities.
In This Role, You Will
- Design basic fixtures for test equipment used across Zoox
- Learn authoring tools such as CATIA and help release our tester designs into Zoox Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
- Perform rapid prototyping
Qualifications
- Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., Ph.D. or advanced degree in a relevant program and within 1 year of graduation. For undergraduates, we are accepting only juniors and seniors
- Knowledge of 3D-printing
- Hands-on experience through academic and personal projects
- Excellent communication skills and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Understanding of Python for fixture bring-up
$30 - $30 an hour
