The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions. This role involves overseeing high volumes of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the accounts payable team with complex tasks and back up to the Controller.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Invoice Management: Plans, schedules and directs the work of the accounts payable team. Prepare reports on the status of payables.
- Vendor Relations: Manages relationships with vendors, resolving any discrepancies and ensuring timely payments.
- Reconciliation: Manages
reconciled accounts payable ledger to ensure all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior accounts payable staff.
- Process Improvement: Develops and recommends policies and procedures to govern the payment of company bills to the advantage of the organization is terms of cash flow and forecast.
- Expense Management: Monitor and manage expense accounts and cost centers.
- May recruit, train and evaluate employee performance, recommend promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounts payable or a related area.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
