About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer with a strong focus on design systems to join our dynamic team. In this virtual role, you will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of our insurance e-commerce platform. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and scaling of our design library across multiple insurance websites by leveraging advanced Figma AI and Make tools. You will serve as the architect of our design system, making it intelligent and responsive to streamline workflows and enhance user experience. Preference will be given to candidates located in CST/EST zones, with the role working CST hours. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence product design at a strategic level while working in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of professional UX/UI design experience, particularly within complex, data-driven environments such as insurance, FinTech, or SaaS. Deep proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Variables, Components, and latest AI/Make features, is essential. Experience managing or contributing to large-scale design systems and a solid understanding of form design are required. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate a vision and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. A background in prompt engineering for generative UI tools and a passion for systems thinking and automation will set you apart. A demonstrated ability to translate high-level concepts into detailed, developer-ready documentation is also critical.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining and evolving a comprehensive component library for over 50 insurance e-commerce sites, ensuring alignment with our global design system and engineering standards. Your role will involve modifying and refining design tokens—colors, spacing, typography—grounded in a semantic layer that supports consistency across platforms. You will lead the technical process of priming AI tools like Figma Make to understand and generate system-aware layouts, ensuring high-quality, responsive designs.
From wireframing to high-fidelity prototypes, you will oversee the entire visual design lifecycle, emphasizing clarity, information architecture, and minimal cognitive load for users. Acting as a technical liaison, you will train product managers and other stakeholders in using AI-assisted design tools for rapid iteration while maintaining strict adherence to design tokens. You will produce detailed, developer-ready documentation that includes interaction states, variable logic, and responsive breakpoints, facilitating seamless developer handoffs.
In addition, you will champion accessibility and ethical design patterns by integrating WCAG compliance into all components. Advocating for inclusive, plainspoken UI, you will help ensure our digital products are accessible and user-friendly for all audiences, avoiding deceptive patterns that could undermine trust or usability.
