About The Role
The Staff iOS Engineer role at Capital One Canada offers an exciting opportunity for seasoned mobile developers to lead and influence the company's iOS applications. As part of the team, you will work on projects that enhance the financial lives of Canadians, such as Credit Keeper, which allows customers to monitor their credit scores, and Quick Check, which provides pre-approval insights for credit cards. The company emphasizes cloud-native development, open-source technologies, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containers to build scalable and agile solutions that bring customer value rapidly. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in any field, with a strong background in mobile application development. You should have at least 6 years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, along with extensive experience in application design, technical architecture, and full-cycle development. Proven leadership skills in mentoring junior and intermediate developers, as well as experience guiding technical and business stakeholders, are essential. A solid understanding of modern software practices and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies will set you apart.
Preferred qualifications include over 8 years of experience leading end-to-end software development projects, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, and experience working within agile environments. Knowledge of open-source frameworks and a passion for continuous learning and innovation are highly valued.
Responsibilities

• Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in collaboration with senior engineers and architects, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
• Participate actively in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle within a dynamic mobile team, from planning and design to implementation and support.
• Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
• Provide expertise on how emerging technologies impact the domain, and incorporate best practices to improve product quality and performance.
• Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior mobile engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
