About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team at Fortinet, working on the FortiGate-as-a-Service (FGaaS) product. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the robustness, security, and performance of our network security solutions through comprehensive testing methodologies. You will play a critical part in verifying the functionality, security, and efficiency of our hardware and software offerings, primarily focusing on function, stress, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network security, scripting, and automation, with a passion for delivering high-quality products that meet the highest standards of reliability and security.
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of network security products or technologies such as NGFW, Endpoint Security, Web Application Firewall.
• Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN.
• Familiarity with application layer protocols such as HTTP, DNS, Radius, SSL, DHCP, LDAP.
• Experience in scripting languages like Shell and Python for automation and testing purposes.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Experience in network product testing, solution design, or validation, especially related to application service performance analysis.
• Basic understanding of AWS security features and testing, including EC2, CloudTrail, Security Groups, and IAM policies.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct function, stress, and performance testing on the FGaaS product to ensure reliability and security.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test checklists, test specifications, and bug reports to document testing procedures and outcomes.
• Automate test cases to improve efficiency and coverage, utilizing scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
• Monitor services continuously and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes and implement solutions promptly.
• Program and execute automated test scripts, ensuring thorough validation of product features and performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with developers to design effective test cases, review test results, and improve testing strategies.
• Participate in the development and validation of network security solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Assist in analyzing application service performance and contribute to solution design improvements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of testing activities, results, and issues for review and continuous improvement.
