About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled UI Developer to join our dynamic team working on the Electricity Market Management System (MMS). In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of 8-15 professionals, including power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of a sophisticated, highly-available cloud-based system that manages multi-state wholesale energy markets. This system is crucial for utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) who are at the forefront of the transition to cleaner energy sources such as solar, wind, and storage. Your expertise will help ensure the system’s reliability, scalability, and user-centric design, ultimately supporting the decarbonization of power systems while maintaining grid stability and efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field from an accredited institution. A minimum of six years of professional experience in software development is required, with demonstrated expertise in UI development and system integration. Proficiency in C# programming on Windows platforms, particularly with Windows Forms and WPF, is essential. Experience with Angular (TypeScript) frameworks, server-side development using Spring, and familiarity with REST or SOAP interfaces are highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have working knowledge of modern development tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Git, and SVN, as well as experience working within Agile or Lean methodologies. Familiarity with SQL and Oracle databases is a plus. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
As a UI Developer, your responsibilities will include translating wholesale electricity market requirements into detailed software specifications. You will contribute to designing and implementing user interface changes, collaborating with database and power systems engineers to ensure seamless integration. Your role involves developing and enhancing server components of the market system, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. You will work closely with project managers and subsystem leads to scope changes, create project schedules, and deliver solutions within established timelines and budgets. Participating in system testing, defect resolution, and troubleshooting is vital to maintain system integrity. You will proactively identify system issues, document solutions, and develop troubleshooting guides to facilitate ongoing support. Leveraging existing product capabilities, you will promote standardization and reuse of solutions, minimizing unnecessary customization. Effective communication with cross-functional teams—including product development, commercial, customers, and partners—is essential to ensure alignment and successful project delivery. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by applying best practices and standard methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
