Akkodis is seeking a
Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst
for a contract role. This is a
remote position (preferred location: Chicago, IL)
. This role focuses on supporting data security initiatives, implementing DLP controls, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and data governance frameworks in an enterprise environment.
To be considered, candidates should have strong experience in
data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and cybersecurity frameworks
, along with a solid background in
information risk and data governance
.
Pay Range: $32/hr. – $37/hr. on W2
(The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
DLP Analyst responsibilities include:
- Implement and support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and solutions
- Monitor and analyze data security incidents and respond to potential data breaches
- Define and manage data classification policies and data lifecycle processes
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and business teams to protect sensitive data
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001
- Support governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives related to data protection
- Assist in configuring and maintaining DLP tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements to data protection controls
- Develop documentation, policies, and procedures for data security
- Stay updated on evolving data security threats and technologies
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data governance, or information risk
- Hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and concepts
- Strong understanding of data classification and data lifecycle management
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001
- Experience in GRC and data security practices
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with
Microsoft DLP / Microsoft Purview
- Familiarity with enterprise data security tools and platforms
- Ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM)
