Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Security Analyst to support day-to-day security operations within a fast-paced environment. This role will focus heavily on access management, security group administration, and ticket-based support for data operations teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, security-minded, and comfortable working through a steady volume of service desk requests (starting with a decent backlog) while ensuring proper controls and compliance are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and resolve service desk tickets related to data access and security requests
  • Administer and maintain security group memberships (e.g., Active Directory, role-based access)
  • Review, approve, and modify user access permissions in accordance with security policies
  • Partner with data operations teams to ensure secure and appropriate access to systems and data
  • Perform access audits and help enforce least-privilege principles
  • Troubleshoot access-related issues and escalate when necessary
  • Maintain documentation of access changes, procedures, and security controls
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to internal security standards

Required Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in data security, access management, or IT support with a security focus
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Security group management (Active Directory or similar)
  • User access provisioning/deprovisioning
  • Ticketing systems (ServiceNow or similar)
  • Strong understanding of access control principles (least privilege, role-based access)
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple requests efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting data operations or data platforms
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) tools
  • Exposure to security compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOX, etc.)
  • Prior experience in enterprise or regulated environments

  • Process-driven and highly detail-oriented
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work independently in an onsite, operational environment
  • Comfortable handling repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and security
